The television show “Aria” by Omroep Max is looking for opera talent again!
I am usually not a big fan of all kinds of competitions, because singing is not a competition (and certainly not an autotune competition!), but I am involved in this program and I really enjoy it. Some of my students are joining as well! For the new ARIA season, Omroep MAX is looking for participants who have the dream of breaking through into the world of opera and who want to be guided by professionals. They are looking for singers who want to compete in ARIA in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam to win the coveted top prize: an exclusive scholarship at the National Opera Studio of the Dutch National Opera under the guidance of Rosemary Joshua.

This fall, Omroep MAX is coming with the second season of ARIA. A musical spectacle in which people are looking for new Opera talent. The winner will be announced after eight episodes. †
In Aria, the opera is brought to the wider public. And that’s what I like so much. What are the talents actually singing and why with so many emotions? What is the song about? How much work and practice does it take to sing an aria and train the voice? ARIA takes the viewer into the world of Opera. ARIA is a co-production of Omroep MAX and MediaLane and is made possible in part by Dutch National Opera.
