Benefit spring concert for DOA on Sunday afternoon March 20, 2022
After having to cancel the Christmas concert due to the measures taken by the corona pandemic, the time has finally come: the student concert can take place live again! On Sunday 20 March my piano students will perform during a beautiful spring concert.
Varied programme
The piano students there play on a beautiful, large Yamaha grand piano. Everyone has been studying hard for the concert in recent weeks and at home. The program is again very varied this time: classical music, Bach to blues and jazz and film music from, among others, “Love Actually” and “Amélie”.
Live together again!
The last student concert was online. With Christmas jingles in between and a game with questions about pieces that were on my listening calendar, which I had given in the summer, it has almost become a full-fledged “Christmas broadcast” that could be on TV in no time!
But playing the piano and singing in front of an audience really has to be live, with each other, without the intervention of computers! And after such a long time, it’s great to finally be able to enjoy the music and the gathering of friends and family again!
Quatre-Mains
Since we can play in church again, many pieces will also be played à quatre-mains by me with the student.
The Charity: Animal Shelter Amsterdam (DOA)
Like every year, the proceeds of the tickets plus the extra donations in money and kind, this time again for a good cause. After distant organizations such as Elephant Nature Park, Pegasus Foundation, Quelli Di Nessuno, Born Free Foundation, Bal Anand Foundation, and many more, this year I opted for a goal closer to home, namely the Dieren Asiel Amsterdam. With this money, the shelter will be able to take in more animals, and with the in-kind donations from the animals’ wish list, hopefully the animals will have some distraction. Would you also like to do something for the animals at Christmas? You can make your donation through the website, click here for the link.
You can also make a donation in kind. For the guests and students: take these with you to the concert! Here is the wish list of the animals. We will then ensure that it all ends up at the shelter in one go. Thanks!
